The sculpture “Fight of deer” is a sculptural work of art known Yugoslav sculptor Jovan Soldatovic (1920-2005). The sculpture is made of bronze and placed in the Petrovaradin fortress in 1965, although at one time was set in front of the Federal Executive Council in Belgrade. This sculptural work is one of the most famous at the Petrovaradin Fortress, and also very original and recognizable.
Jovan Soladatovic was the first professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad and at that point was in retirement. His sculptural artistry is recognizable because it is characterized by frequent depictions of animals, deer, horses, genus in the form of sculptures that are found in parks around the cities of the former Yugoslavia.
