Located near the Novi Sad “Strand” beach on the banks of the Danube, this park is one of the most beautiful green features of the city. It is located on the Boulevard of Despot Stefan, in the central part of the settlement Liman. It can be seen as a whole with a complex of green river, since it is located in the immediate vicinity.
In the middle of the twentieth century, it is envisaged that the apartment blocks apart existing greenery in the village which was done in 50s. Immediately afterwards, the planting of fast-growing species, willows and poplars was made. Then the park did not have the title of the park, but was well visited and favored by residents of the village Liman. Over time, paths were formed, as well as the playgrounds and bowling places. The existence of this green space for decades caused that pressure has been put on city authorities that the area gets title of the park.
Today Liman park covers an area of 12,9ha. Since it is surrounded by high traffic roads, around the park was formed protective zone from high deciduous trees to protect him together with his visitors from the surrounding noise and smog. In the park prevailing deciduous trees: nettle, oak, sophora, hazel, dafina, acacia (80%).
In the middle of the park is a pedestrian promenade that follows the avenue of oaks. Under the trees is a playground for children who enjoy staying in this park. Besides children, often can be met the proud owners of dogs who take a walk with their pets.
