The bust of the Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hadzibeyli

The bust Uzeyir Hacibeyli, the Azerbaijani composer, is a tribute to the Azerbaijani government to Novi Sad. The bust was discovered in 2011 at a ceremony at the Belgrade quay where the bust was set. It was built in Baku in bronze. Around it is a granite terrain of 50 square meters, which boasts with 14 decorative fountains. The quay was reconstructed at that time and was made a walking trail. On the commemorative plaque on the bust is a text on the Azerbaijani and Serbian language, which reads: “Memorial of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hadzibeyli, symbolizing the friendship between Serbian and Azerbaijani people, was built at the initiative and with the support of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and with the participation of the City of Novi Sad. ”

Uzeyir Hadzibeyli (1885-1948) was a composer who composed the former national anthem of Azerbaijan, but also dealt with writing columns, working as a conductor, playwright. He has been teaching and translating texts. He opened the first music school in Azerbaijan.
